Introduction

In this Quarto document we will explore population trends of certain regions and how they are possibly related to political events of the 20^th and 21^st centuries.

Data

The dataset was obtained from the UN Population Division Data Portal and contains population data for 236 regions which span the years 1950 to 2026.
